Translate text in images on your website
Yes, Proxylang can translate text inside images on your website automatically.
How image translation works
Proxylang detects visible text in images on your live site and sends it to the translation engine. The translated text is overlaid on the image in the visitor's language, keeping the original layout intact. This happens in the visitor's browser for script tag and hybrid modes, or on Proxylang's servers for full proxy mode.
Plans that include image translation credits
Every paid plan includes a monthly allotment of image translation credits. Lite includes 2 credits, Start includes 10, Pro includes 30, Business includes 100, and Global includes credits on request. The free plan does not include image translation credits. Credits are consumed per image translated, based on the number of detectable text regions.
Supported image formats and limits
Proxylang translates text in common web image formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. There is no limit on image dimensions, but very large files may affect translation speed. Text must be legible and not obscured by complex backgrounds or decorative effects for accurate detection. Each detected text region counts toward your image credit usage.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to edit my images to use this feature?
No, you do not need to edit or replace your images. Proxylang translates the text overlay dynamically when the page loads.
What happens if I run out of image credits?
If you exhaust your monthly image credits, text in images will not be translated until your credits reset at the start of the next billing period or until you upgrade your plan.
Can I translate images in multiple languages at once?
Yes, if your plan supports multiple visitor languages, Proxylang will translate image text into each requested language based on the visitor's language preference or URL language code.
